Pulling a Frame...
Welcome to our hive! Let us lift the lid and tell you a little story of how we came to be. As with pulling a frame of brood, this will reveal the story of how we've grown and thrived through the seasons.
Ironically, we, Bruce and Mylah Isaac, moved to Tatamagouche from Kleefeld, the honey capital of Manitoba. We both grew up on dairy and hog farms there, and bees weren't a part of our picture until 2003, when a local beekeeper offered to mentor us in the intricacies of apiculture. Today we offer 100% pure, unpasteurized, specialty honey, as well as healing creme, candles, and more!
All four of our children have taken their turns going with Dad on the night runs of moving bees since they were old enough to go along with pillows and blankets!
The past year has seen many changes on the home scene, and we've had to look elsewhere for our seasonal help! One girl has married and moved to Newfoundland, one is married and lives in Kansas, one is off to Tanzania for 2 years, and the youngest, our son, is in Ontario, in steel construction. Each one has been a vital part of the honey business until it was time to move on.
